Monijara (Monica Jaramillo) is a Colombian American artist with a career that expands 20 years and includes group and solo shows in the US and Colombia. She is a multifaceted artist and her work reflects her dialog with the world and her experiences through her travels. Monica’s inspiration ranges from nature and the arts to technical fields such as artificial intelligence and bigdata. Women are also at the center of her work.

Some of her work is decorative drawings from her passion in design and architecture. Her primary artwork are acrylic paintings in large formats using free canvas. She also works in other mediums including clothing, jewelry, tapestry and glass.

David De Hannay, the founder of NYCArtMovement, directed an experimental documentary film of Monica’s art.
